IRO INTERNATIONAL ROBOT OLYMPIAD
BRIEF HISTORY
IRO International Robot Olympiad was founded by Professor Jonghwan Kim of KAIST.
Under the guidance and supervision of UNESCO, the first Olympiad was held in 1999 and
IRO celebrates its 23rd Olympiad in 2021. IRO is the youth international robot competitions and
provides science and technology exchange platform.
The IRO World Committee who are recognized science and engineering professors manage the programs and
over 100,000 students from about 30 different countries participate every year.
IRO국제로봇올림피아드 (International Robot Olympiad)는 "Create Experience, Experienced Creativity" 라는 슬로건 아래 매년 30여 개의 회원국 청소년들을 위해 국제 규모의 기술 문화 교류 및 로봇 대회 개최
청소년들의 과학적 사고 함양 증진을 위해, 로봇산업에 관심이 있는 학생들의 재능을 발전시키기 위해, 로봇산업에 대한 친밀감과 개별적 로봇의 수요를 증진시키기 위해
로봇산업에 관심이 있는 학생들에게 로봇 교육의 기회와
함께 로봇 학습에 대한 확고한 동기 부여를 제공하여,
과학적 재능을 발전시키고, 시대가 요구하는 융합적 미래 로봇 기술 인재로 배양

IRO is the international robot competitions that
provides technology and cultural exchange for youths from over 30 different member countries.
IRO has been hosting the Olympiad since 1999 under the slogan
"Create Experience, Experienced Creativity"
To promote scientific thinking of young people.
To improve the knowledge and skills of students who are interested in robots.
To provide equal opportunities and experiences in robot education.
To cultivate young talents for the 4th industry led by future Artificial Intelligence and Robots.
We first find the students who are interested in Robot Education and provide the students with
firm motivation in learning and support them
to develop the knowledge and skills.
Our goal is to educate the students to meet the requirements of the future AI and robot technology.
