IRO International Robot Olympiad was founded by Professor Jonghwan Kim of KAIST.

Under the guidance and supervision of UNESCO, the first Olympiad was held in 1999 and

IRO celebrates its 23rd Olympiad in 2021. IRO is the youth international robot competitions and

provides science and technology exchange platform.

The IRO World Committee who are recognized science and engineering professors manage the programs and

over 100,000 students from about 30 different countries participate every year.
